Welcome to our second edition of our monthly newsletter that we have created to encourage you in your faith and keep you up to date with all things Veta.

If you are in the Class of ’25, we congratulate you on finishing the year, and pray that you get a well earned rest over the Christmas break!

And a special welcome to you if you are joining the Class of ’26. We pray that you begin to connect at ever deeper levels with the calling of God on your life and the friends you will be travelling the Veta Morphus journey with.

FINDING YOUR MINISTRY PLACEMENT

As you look ahead to Veta Morphus next year, now’s the perfect time to start thinking about your ministry placement. Here are five simple tips to help you get started!

1. Start Early
Don’t wait until the last minute! Begin looking into placements now, so you’re not scrambling when the course starts in January. You’ll need to record 40 hours of ministry placement, so finding something now means you can hit the ground running when Veat Morphus begins!

2. Ask for Help
Your Peer Group Supervisors, church leaders, chaplains, and teachers can help you brainstorm, point you in the right direction or suggest opportunities that fit your skills and passions. And don’t forget to pray – ask God where He might be calling you to serve.

3. Follow Your Passions
Think about what excites you – whether it’s working with kids, leading worship, creating or running a Bible study with your friends at school. Use your placement as an opportunity to work out what you’re passionate about and what God has gifted you in to serve.

4. Consider All Kinds of Placements
God’s Kingdom is BIG! Your placement doesn’t just have to be at church or at school. If there’s a need in your community or neighbourhood that you feel passionate about, that could be the perfect place to put your faith into action.

5. Get Your Forms In!

One of the biggest mistakes students make is forgetting to fully complete their forms before starting their placement – only to learn that their hours haven’t counted later on. Once you’ve chosen your placement, confirm who your supervisor will be and let them know you’ll be submitting forms in February. We’ll remind you about this!

Start thinking now, and you’ll be ready to dive into your placement when January comes!

Sustaining Food and Faith!

John 6:54

Jesus said: “Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life”

“Young people are more open to the Christian faith than at any other time I can remember”. That’s what we’re hearing from teachers in across Australia are reporting similar experiences.

It is no surprise that, in a world of fake-news, personalised algorithms, echo chambers and influencers, young people like you are hungry for spiritual food that will sustain you for life in the real world – not another social-media sugar hit!

Jesus flesh is ’real food’ and His bloods is ‘real drink’.

Veta Morphus is a chance to get off spiritual junk food and enjoy rich, satisfying, life-giving meat from Jesus – and to help you source food that will sustain and strengthen you the for a life of faith.

Bon-Appetit!
